Will Ireland vote to legally murder the unborn by repealing the Eighth?

In less than a month, America and the entire world will be watching Ireland and praying that voters will not vote on May 25 to repeal the eighth amendment of the country's constitution. This 1983 amendment gives the equal right to life to both mother and the unborn child. Support to retain the protection of unborn life is escalating, despite the Irish government's severe misinformation campaign to end the constitutionally protected right to life of the unborn.

According to The Independent, "A new poll on the eighth amendment published in today's Irish Times shows 47% of people would vote to Repeal, while 28% would vote to Retain. What is significant is that the recent poll numbers represent the Repeal's lead diminishing and is currently down from 62% in the last poll by Ipsos MORI for the paper in December 2017.

Why is this right so crucial to Ireland and to millions of the unborn other nations?

The very fact that an unborn baby has greater constitutional protection to life than an unborn baby in America or in other countries is crucial. Currently, there has been renewed efforts by pro-abortion forces in the United States by Planned Parenthood to increase the number of legislators in states and congressional representatives to deny the unborn the right to life. Other nations which have leftist George Soros funded groups engaging in actions to push for lessening legal protections of the unborn.

Besides the legal protection of every single unborn child, there is a moral and Biblical concern that each voter in Ireland and every supporter of the unborn must consider. Where does a nation and a people draw the line when it comes to state sponsored legalized murder? It only seems logical that a person who is about to be put to death be afforded the right to a legal defense. Doesn't that make sense?

Where is the defense that an Irish unborn child can raise from the womb? Imagine the mass hysteria that would occur if one day the government decided that one, by one, your constitutional protections were stripped away until eventually your very life was deemed unnecessary.

Oh yes, that did occur, in Nazi Germany during the late 1930's until the end of World War II. From 1934 through the extermination of over 6 million Jews, the German government methodically voted to extinguish one-by-one the rights of Jewish citizens. The horror and terror which gripped each person, family member, neighborhood and eventually millions were terrifyingly felt in their very core.

Now imagine being in the safety and security of your mother's womb and being protected by the 8th Amendment of the Irish Constitution that guarantees you the right to be born. Now look in your bathroom mirror and place a piece of tape over your mouth and then your eyes and feel the absolute hopelessness that an innocent unborn baby feels.

For the record, the unborn baby does respond to the voice of their mother. The unborn baby does feel pain and yes, the unborn baby is a human being created in the image of God. God is clear when he stated in Genesis 1:27: "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."

On May 25, if voters abolish the 8th Amendment, this cherished creation of God may have their breath of life denied and very life stripped away. That must not happen!

Judy Lake, Executive Director of the American Christian Civil Rights Movement is working extensively to build support for the effort to retain the Irish 8th Amendment. She stressed, "There is no other option available for any Christian or any person who values the life of the unborn, but to support the unborn right to life in Ireland. If voters in Ireland repeal the protection for the unborn baby then the government can pass any type of legislation it wants on abortion."

Lake added, "This would be an absolutely moral travesty and will certainly open the floodgates for further attacks on the right to life of the unborn child. We must stand up, we must not remain silent. Silence is Betrayal."
