The relationships between American Eugenicists and their German counterparts only grew stronger for the most part in the years leading up to World War II. The 1920's continued to see trans-Atlantic cooperation between the scientists, with parties from both groups traveling overseas to see the work being done and share any new insights they may have achieved. Harry Laughlin, the superintendent of the Eugenics Record Office used his position to collate & disseminate Nazi propaganda in the U.S. The American use of the word "Nordic" and the German use of the word "Aryan" were interchangeable by the end of the 1920's. Nazi propaganda was republished in California by American eugenicists and they also arranged for a Nazi scientific exhibit from Dresden, Germany eugenicists to be displayed in August 1934 at the Los Angeles County Museum during the annual meeting of the American Public Health Association. In Germany, the Nazi's often quoted the American geneticists who supported the forced sterilization work being done in Germany.

Think back a few months ago when Speaker of the House Pelosi said of the Family planning funds that would provide contraceptives to low income families. It was called the contraception provision and it was buried in the Stimulus bill. Under the proposed provision, states would have been able to offer family planning services including contraception under Medicaid which provides healthcare for the poor without applying for federal permission. The provision was dropped after Pelosi was unable to adequately defend the provision on ABC's "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos. When asked by Stephanopoulos how "Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services" is stimulus for the economy, Pelosi's embarrassing defense was "Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those — one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government."

In their 1929 published analysis Sterilization for Human Betterment, Paul Popenoe and Ezra Gosney praised the California sterilization program as both beneficial to those sterilized and cost-effective to the state. The Contraception Provision was an attempt to continue the eugenicists philosophy of controlling the birthrate of the "undesireables" (the poor) as Popenoe, Gosney and Margaret Sanger had endevoured to do almost a century before. In part 3 of this column I wrote how the founder of what would become Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, had tried to break the cycle of the generational poor, breeding more babies that would grow up in poverty only to give birth to more poor babies that would repeat this cycle. The motivation for Pelosi, Popenoe, Gosney and Sanger is all the same; control the birthrate of those people in the words of Justice Gingrich "we don't want too many of." Pelosi told Stephanopoulos, "No apologies" for the Contraception Provision in the live interview. You see, the American eugenicists elite of the 21st century cannot pass laws (yet) forcing sterilization of the "undesirables" of society, or force them to abort a pregnancy, but they can certainly use powerful persuasion and convenience to champion their cause. Pelosi's words, "Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost", could have been taken from Sterilization for Human Betterment. Perhaps, she did borrow from Popenoe and Gosney.

At one time the German eugenicists doubted that compulsory sterilization would ever become law as it had in the United States. However, in 1932, only months before Adolf Hitler would come to power, a law was drafted that permitted sterilization with the consent of either the person concerned or the person's guardian. This was during the waning months of the Weimar Republic. The Nazi party was now in position to take control of the nation, and Adolf Hitler saw race science, racial purity and racial dominance as his primary duty and obligation to the German people and would use it as justification for the holocaust.

In his book Mein Kampf, Hitler had stated that the state, "must declare unfit for propagation all who are in any way visibly sick or who have inherited a disease and can therefore pass it on, and put this into actual practice...Those who are physically and mentally unhealthy and unworthy must not perpetuate their suffering in the body of their children."

The Nazi government would, in time, have their own form of death panels that would make life and death decisions. Nazi eugenicists, working with doctors would be the persons on the front lines of Hitler's war against anyone that did not live up the perfect Nazi Aryan specimen. If you did not fit into their mold, you were considered inferior and would eventually be sterilized or murdered in an effort to rid the nation of "undesirables." This would be euthanasia on an unprecedented scale. What started out as forced sterilization of certain groups would evolve into forced abortions, and eventually gas chambers and furnaces. Do not forget eugenics was considered to be good science. Do not forget this good science, had its roots in the theory of evolution as Darwin & Galton presented it in the previous century. Do not forget that the eugenicists had only good intentions for mankind. They wanted to improve the human race through selective breeding of the best human genes and restrict or deny breeding to everyone else. The eugenicists had decided what traits were worthy of reproducing and what traits needed to be weeded out of the human genome completely. Do not forget that to this point we have seen how very powerful & wealthy persons and corporations funded the research being carried out in eugenic research labs across the country and in Europe. The science of eugenics, with significant financial backing, dehumanized individuals here in the United States and forced them to undergo sterilization in an effort to put an end to mental illness, retardation and other social woes such as poverty. Political agendas being led by good science? What say you? Before you answer...read on.

John Holdren is our new Science and Technology Czar, handpicked by Mr. Obama. He was Teresa and John Heinz Professor of Environmental Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Director of Science, Technology and Public Policy Program at the school's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, and Director of the Woods Hole Research Center. In 1977 Holdren co-authored along with Paul and Anne Ehrlich Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment. In the book, the authors made suggestions to slow down the birthrate to save the planet. They suggested better family planning, which is not such a bad idea when done responsibly. But they went on to suggest that if family planning did not work out, then the state should step in with compulsory sterilization for women after they have birthed a certain number of children (that number to be determined by the state as it is in China), and recommended "the use of milder methods of influencing family size preferences" such as access to birth control and abortion. In his view, large families are the nemesis of planet earth and should be outlawed. In the book they write that large families "contribute to general social deterioration by overproducing children". They also wrote that parents "can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility". The book also makes the following suggestions: 1.) add infertility drugs to the nation's water supply 2.) Babies born out of wedlock would be taken from their birth mother and put up for adoption 3.) "Involuntary Birth Control" which would make it legal to implant an infertility device into a person's body when they reach puberty. It would only be removed long enough for that person to reproduce and then another would be implanted.

Holdren went on to write, and it can be found on page 837 that "it has been concluded that compulsory population control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society". He further asserts that "neither the Declaration of Independence nor the Constitution mentions a right to reproduce". How convenient for Holdren to overlook that bit in the Declaration of Independence about "...certain unalienable rights" and "...life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". I believe the right to reproduce is covered by these two points Mr. Holdren. The Declaration goes on to say Mr. Holdren that "to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, Deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed". In other words, we the people empower those we elect to serve us as we see fit. They are to govern over us with the limited power of government they have been given by the people. It is government from the people, and the elected are to represent our system of beliefs according to our conscience. The elected are not to govern over us independent of those that elected them. It is our government, not theirs. It is time we the people reminded them of this. It is time to fire elected officials and those they select to serve in certain offices when they act irresponsibly and immorally by suggesting and then making policies and laws that are not popular or endorsed by the vast majority of the people, it is time to fire them and replace them with someone better qualified and in tune with the constituents. By the way; who concluded compulsory population control laws are legal? I demand to know!

Holdren's hatred for our founding documents and American way of life is further expressed in the book he co-authored. He writes of a "Planetary Regime." This Regime would have the authority to determine such things as "optimum population for the world and for each region and for arbitrating various countries' shares within their regional limits" and "The Regime would have some power to enforce the agreed limits".

When you dehumanize a person, a group of people, or an entire population, it becomes much easier to pass laws against those persons. They become a pest, like roaches or rats. When science is used to justify dehumanizing treatment of others, then man can exercise not only his hatred for others and what they are, but also for their unborn and what they may become. To act in such a way, the conscience of such a person must become seared to the point of they themselves are dehumanized. One no longer considers himself anything more than a product of evolution, no better than a slug on a fallen log. By ignoring and forgetting God, one no longer has to wrestle with the morality they dismiss, or the immorality they practice. One no longer has to worry about being held accountable to a righteous God that does judge and punish evil. One becomes god himself, which makes everything relative and permisable.

By ignoring and forgetting God, Nazi Germany set out to exterminate millions and millions of individuals. Individuals who were created in the image of God, with value and worth. Adolf Hitler worshipped eugenics as his god because he saw it as the answer to what his twisted mind perceived to be a problem. Like dumb dogs, many of those that put him in power continued to support his evil plan of destruction. There exists today a paralel between Nazi Germany and America in attutude of individuals in government that would destroy our nation with eugenics if they are able to control our healthcare. Do they see it? Some may see it. Others see eugenics, or genetic engineering or whatever they want to call it as an aid to a better and healthier nation. But was that not what the eugenicists of the early 20th century saw this good science as? Then as now, they wanted to control our nations health. By reforming healthcare the way Mr. Obama wants it done, government will then be able to tell you what to eat and drink. Government will be able to dictate an exercise routine to you. Government will determine what med.'s you are able to get, and what med's they will keep from you and give to someone else. Government will be able to determine the number of children you can have, and the list goes on. Why and how would they be able to do this? Because the government would control your healthcare so, in the governmental policies that would follow, the government would control everything that effects your health. But you still say it cannot happen in America. If Holdren, who was handpicked by Mr. Obama, and Speaker Pelosi have their way, it will happen...and very soon.

I am not yet finished with this subject, but will complete it in part 6. I will finish this subject by highlighting the groups of people that were targeted for eugenics after the Nazi's came to power. In the eyes of government, it all seemed so innocent, and it was for the betterment of the people and nation as a whole. You will see how American eugenicsists applauded the work of Nazi Germany and haled it as an example to be followed just as our government today tells us we need to copy the policies of other nations in regard to healthcare. You will be shokced to see how American eugenicists helped Nazi eugenicists after the war and the continued to work together in the states under a new title. I also want to take some time to focus one Pastor Martin Niemoller. He was a German Lutheran Pastor that at first supported Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party. His support ended when he realized what a monster Hitler was. Pastor Neimoller's verbal attacks on Hitler and the Nazi party cost him dearly, but you will want to hear what he had to say.
