The most insipid, meaningless, out of context scriptural reference ever: Biden’s inauguration speech deciphered

As a university media and communication professor, I have spent much time critiquing public speaking assignments. So, I thought I would make an attempt to apply my experience here, gleaning what I can from our new president’s opening remarks, prodding through what I heard as a circuitous diatribe of “New Speak.”

As we enter into life with this new administration, I will attempt to understand where we are being led. In my role as a professor, I regularly critique student speeches, presenting counter arguments, questioning inferences etc. I stress objective research on their part, a point that seems to have escaped many Americans these days.

President Biden, you spoke of being on “hallowed ground” and claimed we are “one nation, under God.” Under God? This, I hope you will clarify. What exactly does your administration have in common with God?

You spoke of “a riotous mob “ that “thought they could use violence to silence the will of the people, to stop the work of our democracy, and to drive us from this sacred ground.” The small group on January 6? A mob you obviously make an inference to as being Trump supporters. Not representative of any of the 75-million Trump supporters I know.

What about the previous year or more of endless nation-wide violence, riots, insurrections, sedition and attacks on our very existence? Still ongoing as I understand it. Physical attacks on our elected Representatives, on Federal Buildings, on our national historic monuments? Burned cities, many deaths, assonated police officers in several cities, and more. Did you mention this? Investigate this?

On January 20, 2021, President Biden, you said the following: “I promise you this: as the Bible says ‘weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning’.” Mr. Biden. (Psalm 30:5) This is what the Bible tells us? In what context? Let’s see.

Let’s read it in context to ascertain some actual meaning: (Psalm 30: 2-5)

O Lord my God, I cried out to You,

    And You healed me.

    O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave;

You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His,

And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.

For His anger is but for a moment,

    His favor is for life;

Weeping may endure for a night,

But joy comes in the morning.

Sounds to me like what is being said here is that, through sincere “praise to the Lord,” perhaps maybe obedience to God's Word… crying out to Him, joy will come in the morning. Is that correct Mr. Biden? It also sounds to me that you are actually leading us into the afore mentioned pit. Not out of it.

Now I surely make no claim to any pulpit from which to preach. I am, as Paul said (I Timothy 15) the “chief” sinner (a quote that you, as a Bible Scholar and our religious president must well know). I make no pretenses about it. But I am saying that I see the writing on the wall. That “weighed in the balance and found wanting” thing you know.

Joe, before you say things like “Before God and all of you I give you my word,” think about it. There are some of us who take that whole “God thing” very serious and do not look forward to His wrath upon this nation anytime soon. Obama was the first to tout that America was not a Christian Nation then push as hard as he could to double down on making that a reality. The ‘clinging to guns and Bibles’ thing. You seem to be driving the point further home now. God help us!

This week, the Obama former press secretary and now your, press secretary, Jen Psaki, said you will use executive orders to overturn ‘harmful, detrimental and ... immoral' actions of Trump administration. As of now, I believe you have signed over 40.

Define “immoral” please before we experience fiery hail storms that, believe me, will not be the result of any “climate change.” Jen, its “immoral” to tell lies like that. What “immoral” actions did Trump or his supporters support or put into law? Even the cages on the Southern Border were constructed and put into use by the Obama Biden Administration. So… tell me.

Biden seems to be speaking in some code, aimed at other “insiders” who just have no clue, nor care to have any clue, about reality (in a Biblical context), brushing off any notion that there even is a God or any absolute moral truth at all. This is why these people can, with a straight face, call those with Biblical, conservative beliefs, “evil” and “immoral” among other things. Their thought process is whacked although something in me tells me they must fully well know they are wrong. I would still like to see a simple list of what it is that we on the Right do or believe that is either evil or immoral. Jen, just use bullet points to make it clear for us.

Biden, a staunch abortion and sexual confusion advocate has been called by the media the most “religious” president in decades. “Devout!” What exactly does that mean? Just toss out the dictionary. Not to jump on the 1984 bandwagon, but it seems like we are now moving past even the ninth edition of the New Speak Dictionary. Catch up everyone, catch up!

It was just a year ago when we were lectured all about the holy and “religious” Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani. Similarities? He was touted in almost every media outlet, spearheaded by The Washington Post I believe as being an “austere religious scholar.” So, I am a bit confused. But I digress… back to your speech.

Your introductory remarks: “ America’s day…democracy’s day….A day of history and hope… Of renewal and resolve” and so on. What is that once translated? “Unity... resolve… hope?” Care to define all of this? It is like the word “diversity.” Really means nothing actually as it seems to me that it means something different to pretty much everyone. My dictionary defines it as : “the state of being diverse.” Huh? Used in a sentence, the example is: “"there was considerable diversity in the style of the reports.” The color and size of the paper? The fonts? The ink? What? Tell me. What is “diverse?” I always thought you were not to define a word using the word. What are these people driving at? What are we unifying around? Abortions and sex change? I pray not. Mega stumbling block there President Biden, major. Think maybe God knows this too?

You talked about how “history, faith, and reason show the way, the way of unity.” Faith in what? Reasoning? Surely not the God I believe in, the one you are outwardly “worshiping” but not obeying. Even some in your church want you excommunicated. At least a couple of priests have had the courage to refuse you communion. And you invoke the name of God so frivolously? Shame on you. It scares me. So, what are we unifying around? Sex change and debauchery? And FYI: We do not live in a “democracy.” It is a “Democratic Representative Republic.” Big difference.

But I think that the most blatant abuse of the English language, while banking on the bet that probably no one has even heard of St. Augustine much less read his writings, came when you quoted him. Out of context. Essentially reversing the meaning of the quote as he intended.

You said:” Many centuries ago, Saint Augustine, a saint of my church, wrote that a people was a multitude defined by the common objects of their love.” Augustine continued the sentence (the part you left out)… “then it is clear that to discover the character of any people we should take a closer look at what it loves.” What do we love anyway?

You then asked “What are the common objects we love that define us as Americans?” You answered your own question with a vague list of words that are currently being deconstructed by your administration for the new dictionary at this moment. These words were: “opportunity, security, liberty, dignity, respect, honor…And, yes, “the truth.” Ah, that ever evasive and illusive word, “truth.”

As it turns out, Augustine wasn’t addressing any of these issues aside from one: “truth.” Nor was he expounding on the virtues of achieving a utopian society here on earth. Utopia, as we well know, does not exist.

The partial quote was extracted from a book by Augustine titled “The City of God (Book XIX).” In which, as Augustine wrote about two environments: the earthly city and the heavenly city. In this text, Augustine reviewed the opinions of philosophers regarding the supreme good, and their “vain efforts to make for themselves a happiness in this life.”

Augustine concluded that ‘a people’ (a nation, a city) is joined together by common agreement on the objects of its love. What the people LOVE. What do Americans love according to you? Abortion, transgenderism, LGBTQ,.. all of that stuff…? America loves open borders with no COVID testing? Free everything for everyone? No testing for TB or other diseases now resurgent in America? And we are told, it is racist to not support deification on public streets.

So, Augustine concluded it seems, and, in contrast to the inference made by our president, that the only true peace and happiness belongs to the heavenly city; “ the people of Christ; both now and hereafter.” Not “happiness in this life.” Joe, you have got us barking up the wrong tree.

Why does the Left continually try to misrepresent, take out of context and twist everything that comes out of their mouths? Are they trying to pull the wool over all our eyes? I think so.

President Biden, you had the irreverent audacity to lead us is a prayer to God as your “first act as President.” A moment of silent prayer… just what were you praying? I surely agree with and pray daily for those who have died in the service of this nation, those who have died from COVID… and for our country. I also think that God will surely answer the immoral requests that you on the Left are requesting with His vengeance and devastation. Pray for men in women’s public bathrooms, girls locker-rooms? For boys competing against girls in youth athletics? Unlimited abortions (world wide) paid for by people like the “Little Sisters”? You then followed this “official silent prayer,” a few seconds of keeping your mouth shut, with an “Amen.” At lease you didn’t say “Awoman.”

Like God is going to bless your agenda of killing babies and all of the other debauchery you promote and support and tell us to unify around.

On your position on immigration and open borders: I do not understand how anyone can be both “open borders” / “open immigration” and “pro-choice” at the same time. I have given this some thought. Aren’t “immigrants” people coming to this country from another place? So, aren’t the unborn immigrating here from another place? From another world, actually. I think so. They are immigrating to the US from their mother’s wombs. They were someplace else, then they were here. Immigrants.

Actually, there are people, “way “out there” people, thinking about some similar issues. And while you may look rather dubiously at the reference I offer here, bare in mind that this writer’s point is (I hope) purely theoretical... but on point. I believe, a bit like the 2009 film “District 9.”

In his 1977 article on the topic: “The Legal Rights of Extraterrestrials” Robert Freitas enters into a litany of points pertaining to several issues that would need to be considered and resolved should intergalactic immigrants show up here on earth. Immigrating. His article begins “How, one might ask, can an extraterrestrial (ET) visitor have any rights at all? The ET is not a member of our society, our species, or our planet.” Well, a fetus is all three. Definitely a member of our “species” for sure!

He discusses several issues including a variety of legal theories, ranging from the doctrine of natural rights (“equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family”) and civil rights (“equality of treatment for all inhabitants”), to civil liberties or legal rights created by law and dependent upon the existence of civilized society (as opposed to natural rights). Sounds to me that a fetus qualifies on all of these points as well.

We are in an era in which our government (and the governments of other nations) are all searching the skies for extraterrestrial life. Heaven help us if they succeed in any way shape or matter. Surely our planet will welcome these travelers with open arms while millions more unborn babies are prohibited from their initial visit on the planet.

So, President Biden, how can you claim to support open immigration and abortion in the same breath?

You conclude your speech by saying “May God bless America and may God protect our troops.” Why would He? The troops (and wall) surrounding the Capital? Washington DC, less than seventy-square miles, an area almost twenty times smaller than Rhode Island. The next state? Then the PR? What’s next? Expanding the Supreme Court? Lawlessness?

I recently read an article touting what a great country India is. I could not believe it. This, perhaps, is the America President Biden is telling us about. Then I discovered there are several writing about this falsity. India being praised as the land of unity and diversity. Have you been there? Seen pictures at least? Is this why so many from India are literally begging to relocate to the good old US of A? “Unity?”

If you haven't been there, rent the film “Slumdog Millionaire.” India: a nation divided by ethnic groups. A “Caste System” of social stratification, as old as the nation, evil in its origins. And sacred cows that are treated better than a large chunk of the population? Really folks? It won’t be long until they are selling us the Brooklyn Bridge again.

Finally, this GameStop “Short Trade.” While not covered in your speech, I would like your take on this. I may be wrong, but didn’t George Soros make his fortune “shorting” the British Currency? Sure, “Black Wednesday,” September 16, 1992. Quoting Investopedia, “Soros, for his part in ‘enforcing’ market dynamics, pocketed $1 billion on the deal.” And the Left is coming down on Reddit for essentially playing the same game? Double Standard folks?

Don’t get out of line folks. If any of you have followed my articles over the past decade, you may recall me calling out many in banking and other “too big to fail” sectors running their billion dollar businesses into the ground and riding their short trades all the way down as their banks and corporations failed during the “subprime crisis.” A “crisis they created and got very wealthy from. Its the same message they are delivering now to the Trump family and anyone of us who still think we are, in any way, in a system, open to all. Step back!
