The absolutely senseless school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, has stunned the country. Every mass murder is shocking, but the slaughter of innocent children is beyond shocking. The loss of these young lives and the anguish of the families is intensely heartbreaking. Further, such a pointless, random shooting is inexplicable and fills everyone with bitter hopelessness because no one can fathom why this teenager would resort to killing children in cold blood.

While the nation mourns and before the young victims can even be buried, radical voices filled with hatred cannot restrain themselves from sowing division and exploiting this tragedy for their political agenda by spewing disgusting accusations. No decent or sane person condones such carnage and everyone regardless of political persuasion is profoundly saddened by any such massive loss of life, but leftists absurdly allege that Republican love their guns more than their children.

Talking heads in the Democrat Media Complex have taken to the airwaves to spout idiotic things like “no amount of bloodshed can move the hardened hearts of conservatives or Republicans.” Many Democrats have agreed with CNN’s Joy Reid claiming “Republicans simply don’t care about gun violence.” Fox News contributor Judith Miller said on “Fox News Live” that Republicans must stop being “the party of egregious mass shooting and uncontrolled guns.” They brazenly imply Republicans endorse such bloodbaths. It’s offensive and stupid.

Once again leftists are clinging to the moronic canard that it is the guns that are dangerous, not the evil people seeking to harm others. When asked about arming teachers to protect students, several Democrat Congressmen pooh-poohed the idea saying that introducing more guns into schools would make them more dangerous. Such statements are utterly dishonest and intellectually bankrupt.

Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas was an extremely dangerous place that fateful morning when there were no guns on campus except for those carried by the crazed killer. Safety was shattered until the school was flooded with armed law enforcement that eventually neutralized the threat. No one felt safe until they were surrounded by gun toting police. In other words, when good guys with guns took out the bad guy with a gun, security was restored.

So the huge pressing question is why wouldn’t we have a good guy with a gun already in the school before the bad guy with a gun shows up?! This is not a new question. There are actually dozens of school shootings every year and every few years this tragic trend is punctuated with sheer terror and a nauseating massacre, like Sandy Hook Elementary or Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. So why have we not learned this bloody lesson?!

Average Americans already know this and consider it plain common sense to protect our valuables with armed men if necessary; and what’s more valuable than our children? Banks employ armed guards to protect their money. Celebrities and politicians surround themselves with gun toting security to feel safe, but these same charlatans lose their minds if parents demand the same protection for their children. They wail about how dangerous guns are and how irresponsible it would be to put guns in schools; and then they troop off with their heavily armed security details leaving our children defenseless until the next monster rears its head.

Armed Resource Officers in schools have been around for decades and many schools do utilize armed security to protect their schools. The news seldom reports the numerous cases when a good guy with a gun thwarted a bad guy with a gun. Texas Senator Ted Cruz introduced federal legislation to “harden” schools, but Democrats blocked it. The Democrat’s “Defund the police” lunacy also removed law enforcement from many schools, so spare us the ridiculous accusations and fake indignation.

Leftists may shamelessly malign their opponents for political advantage, but they are also repulsed by the senseless slaughter. So, let’s put aside the political posturing and objectives and actually protect our children.

There are already numerous laws to prevent crazy or criminal people from possessing guns; let’s enforce them. The government is already spying on the American people, so let’s find out why they are not finding the crazies. Stop focusing on concerned parents and start hunting the predators prowling around our schools.

Leftists will certainly never give up their pursuit of gun control and freedom loving law abiding Americans will never surrender their weapons, so while that battle rages for who knows how long, let’s do something concrete to protect our children. Forget the federal government; this is a state issue. States and local authorities should place armed guards in every school, harden their access points, and consider arming qualified teachers.

There are plenty of retired law enforcement and military personnel eager to do their duty; let them. Let’s stop playing nonsensical political games with our children. The debates can wait, but our children cannot. Protect them now!

“Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house” (Matthew 12:29).
