Kamala’s Laughter: A pseudobulbar affect, a character flaw, or is she just laughing at us?

The Mayo Clinic website says:

Pseudobulbar affect (PBA) is a condition that's characterized by episodes of sudden uncontrollable and inappropriate laughing or crying. Pseudobulbar affect typically occurs in people with certain neurological conditions or injuries, which might affect the way the brain controls emotion.

If you have pseudobulbar affect, you'll experience emotions normally, but you'll sometimes express them in an exaggerated or inappropriate way. As a result, the condition can be embarrassing and disruptive to your daily life.

Pseudobulbar affect often goes undiagnosed or is mistaken for mood disorders. Once diagnosed, however, pseudobulbar affect can be managed with medication.

The symptoms are:

The primary sign of pseudobulbar affect (PBA) is frequent, involuntary and uncontrollable outbursts of crying or laughing that are exaggerated or not connected to your emotional state. Laughter often turns to tears. Your mood will appear normal between episodes, which can occur at any time. Crying appears to be a more common sign of PBA than laughing.

Do we need to have a psychology degree to say that this looks like what Kamala has been displaying to all of us in her campaign?

Armchair psychiatry may be no more than a stab at trying to figure out Kamala’s laugh, but watching her laugh voraciously at the most inappropriate times does make it look, as she has said, that she just fell out of a coconut tree.

As the dangers of a new world war encroach upon us with each passing day, do we want to put a laughing hyena in charge of the nuclear buttons?

We may not know if she has pseudobulbar, but we are sure very few humans laugh so much. We are also sure that chickens only cackle a lot when they are about to lay an egg.

Her failing campaign may be the egg just laid – you decide.

A character flaw can be detected easily: Just engage the simple wisdom of Matthew 12:34

“…for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”

The entire media machine has been calling for Kamala to sit down with interviewers and disclose her hopes, plans, and policies for America.

As election day nears, she has been gushing.

What have we seen and heard? What does Kamala want for America?

The test begins now – good luck.

These are the things Kamala thinks we need.

  • More dead babies, all in the name of “women’s health.”

  • More transgendering for children, prisoners, soldiers and immigrants.

  • More border crossings, even if they include criminals, terrorists, rapists, and murderers.

  • More light sentences and bail-free releases for criminals.

  • More pornographic books and materials for elementary and middle schoolers. No Nazi style book burnings in America.

  • More taxes, so she and the Dems can spend trillions instead of mere billions.

  • Less price gouging so our potato chips will cost 15 cents less, so America will flourish once again.

  • Less free speech and arrests for those who oppose the liberal democratic view of all things.

  • Less freedom to choose our own health care and insurance plans. After all, that magnificent model of efficiency known as Medicare and Medicaid works so well.

  • Less power for parents so the government in all its wisdom can help the little monkeys to become total idiots.

These are not just complaints. These are the things that flowed out of the abundance of her heart.

The test is ended. You may put your pencils down.

Is Kamala simply laughing at us?

This is where it seems a bit of a stretch. She is probably not laughing at us, but rather, she is laughing at the absurdity of the possibility that she could even be considered as the Commander in Chief for these United States of America.

With no accomplishments as VP and a failure as a border czar, along with not a single primary vote, that is the laugh.

But beware, if we actually give her the White House, we will be among the most qualified people on earth to be laughed at and mocked.

Kamala, no doubt, believes that she can win and that her self-perceived greatness is her ticket. But her record and her plan for America is riddled with absurdities, dangers and over-reach. She is a small fry with a big dream.

The Apostle Paul once penned a bit of sage advice for people just like Kamala, to wit:

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3).

Without the beauty of Elizabethan English, it might suffice to use this more familiar saying for Kamala Harris.

‘Don’t get too big for your britches.’
