A San Diego pastor is calling for a boycott of Hollywood films after recently viewing the film, Noah. He saw the film when it was released last month. Pastor Adlai Mack of the Christian United in the Word of God Church in San Diego, CA, reported that the film begins by "pretending to give an overview of the Biblical account of the book of Genesis, working its way to the 6th Chapter." According to Mack, the film portrays Noah in an unbiblical, inaccurate and satirical fashion. Noah is shown as a warrior, not as a preacher, says Mack. Noah even threatens family members with fights and death threats.

According to the film's account, Noah's instructions from God are through dreams which go even so far as ordering him to kill his own grandchildren. The movie follows one distortion upon another of the true account. For example, the Bible records all of Noah's sons as married; the movie depicts two of Noah's sons unmarried and another one as a fornicator.

Through his dreams God tells Noah that man is corrupt ... (However, the movie somehow puts forth the notion that all this is all God's fault). According to Rev. Mack the film next moves to an even darker path. He reports that fallen angels supposedly help build and protect the ark, facilitating its completion. (Fallen angels are described in the Bible as demons or followers of Satan). Pastor Mack noticed that the film spent an inordinate amount of time filming all types of snakes entering the ark. (In the Biblical account in Genesis the snake is used to represent the devil). In one of the closing scenes, Noah is in a drunken stupor on the beach and is commended by one of the characters for not murdering his two grandchildren in defiance of God's instructions.

In Rev. Mack's estimation, the underlining message of the film is that the Bible is a fake – a fairy tale. Human free will is celebrated with the not so subtle message that "human free will is wiser than the divine command." The film demonstrates that its producers have no interest whatsoever in accurately reflecting the Biblical account, and the film goes out of its way to mock the Christian faith.

Please join Pastor Mack in his boycott of this and other inappropriate and offensive films. I am sure that if this film were attacking the Muslim faith, the entire world would be in an uproar.

(Pastor Adlai has been a pastor since 1979. He has been involved in the pro-life community actively defending the lives of the unborn outside of abortion clinics around San Diego county for many years. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Gordon Conwell Seminary. His church is located at 5077 Logan Ave., in San Diego. After seeing this 'blasphemous film,' Pastor Mack is urging the Christian community to boycott Hollywood).
