IT'S THE SECOND DAY OF MAY, AND OUR GROUNDHOG SAW HIS SHADOW. That means six more weeks of winter, and I have my wood stove going full blast (I was in the U.P. of Michigan).

BEFORE the election, an Oboma voter-acquaintance said, "But isn't the great thing that we can disagree?" After the election, however, I was told to stop "talking politics." Sshe didn't want to hear the reasons we disagreed.

Oboma continues to allow people to carry diseases across the Rubicon — er, I mean — the Rio Grande. I guess whether it's "grand" or not depends on which side of the border you're coming from (ERs in Texas are being inundated with flu cases).

As a senior citizen and a "mossback" Traditionalist, I'm an "extremist" in Oboma's book. Our perspectives are "dangerous." We who have been around the block a lot longer than he has are supposedly motivated by "hatred."

Orwell said, "Doublespeak means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them."

Liberals claim that while conservative speech on the radio should be limited, they have a Constitutional "right" to HEARD (it's virtually mandatory).

No one has an inherent "right to be heard" (as a writer, how well I know that), but the Administration is working to silence dissent. Manufactured crises are a pretext to silence opposition to the flow of power from the local to the state to the federal government..

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims is the worst," said C.S. Lewis.

We and our kids and grandkids are being fleeced – and the news media are thrilled about it! Thomas Jefferson, the founder of the Democrat party (the Republican Democrat party), is being drummed out of the party.

In my most previous column I said, "We're not 'angry'; we're FURIOUS."

For me, the good news was a poll reported by the Associated Press at Yahoo news:

"By 55 to 38 percent, voters said they did not want their state to allow same-sex couples to marry."

BUT GUESS WHAT THE HEADLINE WAS? "Americans hold mixed views on gay marriage."

P.S. There you have it: 2009 news that looks like the front page of yesterday's newspaper (the olde media that are on life support).
