Apparently, when Joe Biden left the White House, he went to work for Yahoo. I have been a Yahoo user for more than twenty years. One of the attractions of Yahoo has been their large free storage of one terabyte (1,000 gigabytes). From time-to-time, I would check my storage and find that I had used only 2.5%-3%.
On July 27, I opened an email to find a notice at the top of the email telling me that my Yahoo mailbox is full and that I had until August 27 to clean out my emails or add storage (for a fee, of course), or lose the ability to send or receive emails. That message appeared on all the unread emails in my inbox.
This was quite a shock since Yahoo had not notified me of any change in their service. I checked my storage, again, which had never exceeded 2%-3% of capacity, to learn that I was now over my storage limit by 90%.
On July 28, I received an email notification from Yahoo that my mailbox was full and that I had until August 12 to empty my mailbox, add storage (for a fee) or lose the ability to receive or send emails. So, they have moved up the time frame to cut service. The email refers to “the free limit” of storage space, but nowhere does the correspondence state what the new “free limit” is.
A few days after being notified twice that my Yahoo mailbox was full, I received another email from Yahoo telling me that the new free limit is now 20 gigabytes. Kind of a bassackward way of doing business, I thought.
Over the next few days, I began to go through old emails, moving them to the trash bin until I brought my mail level to 84% of my new Yahoo Bidenflation storage of 20 gigabytes.
Yesterday, August 5, Yahoo sent another message stating, “Yahoo Mail has corrected an incorrect storage usage alert; for the latest information, check your storage details via the desktop, mobile web, or the Yahoo Mail App.” The email was titled “Correction to your Yahoo Mail storage notification.” Again, this correspondence gives no details of the new “free limit.”
Without prior notice, Yahoo had reduced their free storage limit by 98%. Surely, I thought, Joe Biden’s is now running Yahoo as he ran the U. S. of A. I could understand a 50% cut, or a 60% cut. Even a 90% cut to 100 gigabytes would be understandable and it would leave Yahoo still far ahead of all other email providers in free storage.
The evidence is clear that Biden and his minions must now be running Yahoo. Not only by the Bidenflation of 98% reduction in service, but the screwed up manner in which all this occurred. Must be Mayorkas or laughing lady “Border Czar” Kamala now running the day-to-day business at Yahoo, I thought.
To add insult to injury, when I opened my Yahoo email yesterday, the entire screen was different. The nerds at Yahoo, probably under Biden’s orders, changed the Yahoo email format, which has been essentially the same for at least fifteen years, with a slight occasional change. But, this was a makeover that would put to shame any HGTV home makeover. I can’t repeat my feedback notes to Yahoo in this rant.
I never liked the phrase the younger generations apply to situations like this. But, Yahoo (synonym for sucks) swills! Does anyone have a suggestion for a different email provider?
